  • Have you confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and been born again - made new?
  • With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation."  Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.                                                                                      Acts 2:40,41

  • Are all your life choices, right now, demonstrating a desire for holiness?

SATURDAY — SPIRIT BAPTISMS

  • FOR THE GIVING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT -EMPOWERING THE NEW LIFE.
  • Are you in need of a fresh filling and  - empowering encounter to live this new life even more effectively & fruitfully?
  • When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God (became believers), they sent Peter and John to them. When they arrived, they prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them; they had simply been (water) baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.  The Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.                                        Acts 8:14-17
  • Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples  and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when[a] you believed?”  They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?”  “John’s baptism,  (into the body thru repentance),” they replied.  Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”  On hearing this, they were (water) baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues[b] and prophesied.                Acts 19:2-6

FASTING TIPS

Going  deeper with God!

How to Begin

Start with a clear goal. Be specific. Why are you fasting? Do you need direction, healing, restoration of marriage or family issues? Are you facing financial difficulties? Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance. Pray daily and read the Bible.

Preparing Spiritually

Confess your sins to God. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas of weakness. Forgive all who have offended you and ask forgiveness from those you may have offended (Mark 11:25Luke 11:417:3-4). Surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ and reject the worldly desires that try to hinder you (Romans 12:1-2).

Deciding What to Fast

The type of fasting you choose is up to you. You could go on a full fast in which you only drink liquids, or you may desire to fast like Daniel, who abstained from sweets and meats, and the only liquid he drank was water. Remember to replace that time with prayer and Bible study.   (TRY 11 DAYS -NO SWEETS/MEATS --THEN 10 DAYS LIQUIDS ONLY)

Deciding How Long

You may fast as long as you like. Most can easily fast from one to three days, but you may feel the grace to go longer, even as much as 21 to 40 days. Use wisdom and pray for guidance. Beginners are advised to start slow.

What to Expect

When you fast your body detoxifies, eliminating toxins from your system. This can cause mild discomfort such as headaches and irritability during withdrawal from caffeine and sugars. And naturally, you will have hunger pains. Limit your activity and exercise moderately. Take time to rest. Fasting brings about miraculous results. You are following Jesus’ example when you fast. Spend time listening to praise and worship. Pray as often as you can throughout the day. Get away from the normal distractions as much as possible and keep your heart and mind set on seeking God’s face.

How to End

Don’t overeat when the time comes to end your fast. Begin eating solid food gradually; eat small portions or snacks.

June 29 - July 19, 2020

Physical obedience brings spiritual release!

The purpose of the fast is to deprive the body from eating certain foods as a way to get closer to God.  Increased spiritual awareness, becoming stronger in your faith and building more spiritual stamina are also the purposes of this fast

● Fast 1,2, or 3 meals a day
● Liquid only fast
● 21 day Daniel fast - limited foods (consider no meats or sweets)
● Fast sugar or coffee
● Fast media (TV, movies, social media)
 ● Fast spending & shopping

I ate no choice food; no meat or wine touched my lips; and I used no lotions at all until the three weeks were over.                                         Daniel 10:3

That your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you                      Matthew 6:18
